<image:caption>I am an artist living in the greater Chicagoland area currently exploring the figure through life drawing. The human figure is the subject that brings me closest to my passion for drawing, through a connection to the presence and humanity of the model. Drawing provides a process that is fast, responsive, changeable, and immediate. It opens possibilities to express memory, emotion, and intimacy that I hope also touches the viewer of my drawings. I received my BFA in studio art from the University of Arizona where I was a student of James G. Davis. I enrolled at the University of Washington to pursue a Master of Architecture. I was awarded several scholarships, including a stipend to live in Stockholm for four months pursuing thesis research. In Stockholm, I was able to meet and interview many artists and the architects who designed the famed Stockholm subway system. My thesis, titled The Mythic Imagination in Public Art: Stockholm Tunnelbana Stations examined the role of public art on the stage of the city and how public art can embody cultural meaning. My professional practice was in institutional and commercial architecture in Chicago with an interest in sustainable design. I am professor emerita of the College of DuPage Department of Architecture. My art work continues to investigate the role of art and the poetics of shared meaning in our culture that I examined as an architect.</image:caption>
